Updated 15th October 2019

On 14th April 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was finally approved by the EU Parliament and was enforced on 25th May 2018.  This Regulation changed how companies store and use personal data which is obtained in various ways.  The Regulation also allows an individual to access how their personal information is held and used by a company.

Our Privacy Policy may be updated at any time, without notice or explanation. We therefore suggest you check the date at the top of the policy page each time you visit, as the date will indicate when it was last reviewed and possibly changed by ourselves. Any changes will take immediate effect once they are posted onto our site.

Cookies – what are they and how are they used

We use cookies on our website. Unfortunately they are not of the chocolate chip variety, although there’s nothing stopping you from having one with a cuppa, whilst you do some shopping!

Blossom Bits and Bags value your privacy and at no point will your personal information be passed or sold to any other person or business, except the third parties which are detailed below.

There are numerous information pages on the world wide web, which explains in depth what a cookie is in technology jargon and what they are used for.

Below is a link to information in relation to cookies

All About Cookies

Wix provides the platform on which our site has been created. Your data may be stored securely behind the Wix.com firewall.  Cookies are enabled for many reasons, some of which include:

  • Providing a great experience for our visitors and customers

  • Identifying our registered members (users who registered to our site – this facility is unavailable at present)

  • To monitor and analyse the performance, operation and effectiveness of Wix's platform

  • To ensure our platform is secure and safe to use

Information that we hold

Some of your personal information is shared with third parties such as Royal Mail and Hermes, so that your order can be delivered.  Email information is generally used to send invoices, or correspondence which may relate to your order, or a query which has been raised.  Occasionally we may need to contact you via telephone if there is an issue with your order.

Payments

Payments are collected using SSL (secure sockets layer) which is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and browser.  This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browers remain private and integral. Wix payments comply with the PCI-DSS (payment card industry data security standard), which is managed by the PCI Security Standards Council.

Blossom Bits and Bags does not have access to any credit/debit card numbers or bank account information which has been used in a transaction for orders on our site.  This information is held with either PayPal or your credit/debit card company.  If paying by bank transfer, the only information we receive is your name, the amount and order number if you have included this in the transaction details.

If you have any questions or worries about this privacy policy, or how your personal information is stored, please don't hesitate to get in touch by either our contact us page, email jo@blossombitsandbags.com or write to us at Blossom Bits and Bags, Blossom Barn, Plumpton, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11 0JD.
